So, there's this thing called the Food Blogger Cookie Swap.
It's super cool, really.
You make three dozen cookies...
Has to be a new cookie recipe to you.
Anyway, you bake three dozen cookies and send a box of one dozen cookies to three different other folks who have signed up to participate.
There's a small entry fee that is all donated to Cookies for Kids Cancer.
Totally worth it.
Then, you wait to receive cookies from three other people who got your name!!
How fun is that??!!
I actually got all three of my cookies on the same day. Which was also Soup Wednesday. (Where we invite friends and family over to eat soup together. Yeah. It's a thing.) Anyway, we all sat around and ate cookies galore!! It was just perfect. And they were all amazing!!
There were (from left to right) - spice cookies, chocolate cookies and apple snickerdoodles.
I've also received some super generous and awesome gifts from Oxo and Imperial Sugar who helped sponsor the cookie swap.
This was way fun and I can't wait to play again next year!
Here's the recipe for the cookies I made:
Cocoa Surprise Cookies
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour
2/3 cup baking cocoa
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups mini marshmallows, frozen
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa and baking soda; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips.
Roll the dough into 1.5 inch balls. Press two or three frozen marshmallows into each. Reshape balls.
Place two inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until set. Cool for 5 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely. Yield: 5 dozen.
I used dark cocoa because I love that stuff.
I also used mini chocolate chips because I like to spread that love all over :)
Y'all have a great Wednesday!
