Hello Kitty Zebra Cake

It has been a very busy few weeks around here!

Cakes, cupcakes, and cookies oh my!!

Here's one of the cakes I made over this last weekend.

I had lots of fun with this one.  First zebra stripe cake!

And, really, who doesn't think Hello Kitty is at least a LITTLE cute!

This one was for a birthday girl.

I hope she had as much fun eating it as I did making it!

So, you coming to Oklahoma around November 3rd? That cake would be oh so perfect for Grace! She's a major Hello Kitty fan too!!! WHY are you soooo far away!

I thought of y'all when I got this order. Maybe I needed practice so I could walk you through it? I'll check our calendar...

Was the zebra print, bow, and accents at the bottom made with Gum Paste or Fondant?

Those were all made with fondant. If I were to do it all over again, I'd add a little bit of tylose powder to the fondant to get it to stiffen up better (and faster), but I'm certain I only used fondant with this one.

Where do I get that from?

That's a great question! I think I got mine at Hobby Lobby. I imagine any craft store that supplies cake decorating stuff would have it, as well. There's some at Amazon - of course :) - herehttp://www.amazon.com/CK-Products-Tylose-Powder/dp/B0056HJ0MG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1367090333&sr=8-2&keywords=tylose+powder
