Funny name, delicious cookie!

Got to make these the other day and my niece told me that there was something in them that made her want to keep on eating them. I have to agree.

It's just your classic snickerdoodle recipe.

Classic but delicious!!

Snickerdoodles Recipe:

2 3/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cream of tartar
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Sift flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt together and set aside.  Cream shortening and sugar.  Add eggs and vanilla.  Gradually add sifted dry ingredients.  Roll in small balls (3/4" to 1"). Roll in mixture of 2 Tbsp sugar and cinnamon to taste.  Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until very lightly browned.
